Preparing
Your Child...
Please discuss the positive
aspects of dentistry and convey good feelings to your child about dental
visits. Do not say, "The dentist will not hurt you." Instead
say, "The dentist is going to show you lots of new and fun
things
to make your teeth sparkle and help you have a pretty smile."
Don't bribe your child or use a dental visit as
a form of punishment. Morning
appointments for little ones will usually catch
them at their most refreshed time. Schedule your
child's
appointment for the time of day when they are the most cooperative.
We realize that after-school appointments are the most convenient for
parents. However, there may be times when we will need to schedule
your appointment earlier in the day.
Your
Child's First Visit
We welcome parents to come back
into the treatment area for their child's
first visit to see our dental facility and treatment procedures.
However, in order for us to establish a trusting relationship with your
child, we ask that parents remain in the waiting room during future
visits. Please feel free to ask
questions concerning your child's dental treatment at any time.
